Danu's Cauldron: Wisewoman's Ways, and Wild Fey Magic

Living in a sacred landscape, walking between the worlds in the veil of Avalon Glastonbury. Where the old gods roam the hills, and the sidhe dance beneath the moon...wander into the mists with me and let us see what we may find...

Magical seed sowing spell

As the wheel turns to spring, life begins to stir in the soil and earth magic grows more powerful with every day.

Now is the time to sow flower herb or vegetable seeds indoors for abundant new plants in the coming summer. Excellent things to try in a limited space are salads or calendula or nasturtium plants which can be directly sown into small pots and grown on the windowsill if space is short. Allow yourself to experiment and have fun, eagerly awaiting the new shoots and seedlings springing into life.

You can add extra magic to seed sowing, by blessing and infusing the seeds with your energy.  First hold them in your hands, and take three deep breaths. Visualise the new life that will come, see them as strong healthy plants. If there is something you would like to attract in your life such as love, health or abundance, see that also coming strongly into your life in the coming months. Visualise this with as much detail as possible. Then visualise the light of the sun above you, and as you breathe, see the light go into the seeds, more and more until in your mind’s eye, you can see them glowing golden and full of magic and life force, as well as set with your intention. This technique is called sympathetic magic, and is very powerful.

Take a pot filled with soil or compost, and sow the seeds thinly upon the surface, before covering with a fine layer of soil or grit. Then water gently. If the pot has holes underneath for drainage, stand in some water for a while rather than water if from above so it can draw the water up from underneath.

Take another three deep breaths, and focusing your intention again, see in your mind’s eye the plants growing strong and beautiful, and your desires coming into fruition as they grow. Place your hands gently upon the soil, and send the seeds your love and energy, whispering any prayers for your desire into the soil. Thank them for the new life they will bring.

Tend to the plants gently and carefully, see they get the right amount of sunlight and water, and watch them grow, and take practical steps in your own life as well, to draw to you what you wish for. Over the next three months, as the plants grow and come to maturity, so shall your desires. See that it is for the good of all and harms none.

Blessed Be.
