Let's All Howl Together

On this eve of the Full Wolf (Cold) Moon, I'm somehow feeling both very contemplative and fired-up at the same time. Must be the wolves calling to me. As I'd mentioned in my recent Patreon moon phases update to my patrons this month, this is the season when the canines get frisky. The wolves traditionally begin their mating season at the end of January into March, and according to the Farmer's Almanac, it is at this time you will most likely hear their beautiful, lonely howls. They are also often on the hunt in the cold of winter.

Of Wolves and Lions

Besides this moon phase having to do with wolves, big cats are also involved, as the Full Moon has moved into the sign of Leo the Lion. This signifies a desire to fully embrace your baddest, boldest self. Feel free to ignore any insecurities or hang-ups that might otherwise get in your way. The time is right to set your goals, follow through, and let your heart lead you where you need to go.

"During the heart of winter, the wolf moon appears, indicating a time of stillness and profound self-reflection. The wolf moon is believed to symbolize the power and strength of wolves, which are often associated with intuition, loyalty, and a strong connection to nature," per Morgan Lett at Popsugar.com.

What's Going On?

Why all sorts of things! My latest Colleen Confessional is out and live for your listening pleasure. I'm fired up about a lot, and I let all things fly in my annual tradition of a one-on-one with myself for the "Women Who Howl at the Moon" podcast.

In other big news, the musical I co-wrote, "Shining in Misery: A King-Size Parody," is headed to 54 Below in NYC on May 8th of this year. Super excited about that, and can't wait to see what's in store for our show in 2024! On the local Milwaukee front, a truly cool bookstore, Lion's Tooth (more lion themes), is carrying my children's book, "Sidney." Lion's Tooth offers great community events, and also carries artwork, adult fiction, and 'zines. You've got to love a place that really supports its local artists. Speaking of which, when I invite you to all howl together, I mean it. Get together with groups that make your soul sing, and see what you can make happen.
