This is not a complete list. I have left out several excellent contributors, with no lack of appreciation. And these reactions are purely subjective, based on my peculiar mindset and experiences.

Archer is a very smart cookie. She has the sort of brilliantly analytical mind which is usually referred to as a shining intellect. Her studies in Buddhism and Yoga exhibit insights far deeper than mere academia, for she derives clear lessons from their teachings which directly bear on our current daily issues. Her revelations come from states of profound meditation and intense thought.

Danu exudes love—love of the tranquil beauties of her natural environment, love of her daughter, love of the primordial healing energies resident in rocks, springs, roots, leaves and fruit. She is our direct conduit to the old gods and goddesses of Avalon. Her evocative writing draws us into her space and bids us share in its peace. We can climb the Tor with her in spiritual communion.

Joanna combines intellectual inquiry and a love of nature in her special version of Zen Druidry. Her Hindu studies underpin the rhythms of life which pulse through her writings, as she describes her interactions with forest kin, her ever-deepening relationships with her husband and peer groups, and her maturing insights as a woman. She offers profound observations on male-female psychology.

Francesca comes to us from a plane of transcendental intuition, forged through years of severe physical suffering with implacable intention to overcome and master the body. If we open ourselves to her writing we are given the gift of resonating with her truth, on a level far deeper than words alone could ever convey. It's a far out trip, man—and we are transformed by the initiation.

All of these diverse personalities share a wonderful sense of humor, and the wisdom to find contentment in working on themselves on behalf of their students, unaffected by whether or not they can change anyone else in the world. When the student is ready the teacher appears. All those who are not ready must find something else.
