Summertime...and yet the living is not but so easy.

My rich and full life has kept me away from here for a good part of the summer. I'm not just a village witch, you know. I'm a gardener and canner, and this summer we expanded one of the community gardens and brought another one "online" in my neighborhood.

The life of a subsistence-farmer/witch can get awfully busy in the summer--and it did.

In addition to tending and picking and planting and weeding--and witching!--I also write. And the real reason I have been so absent is that I've been finishing my second book on Appalachian folk magic.  It's in the final editing stages (at least I hope so) and I am excited about that part. "Asfidity and Mad-stones: a Further Ramble through Hillfolks' Hoodoo" is the title.

Did I mention teaching?  Um, yes, some of that, too.  Got back late on Monday after a terrific weekend in Delmarva and Maryland, where I was a guest presenter at the Delmarva Pagan Pride Day. Which was wonderful, by the way.  Big fun, met lots of new people and got to spend time with people I have liked for many years but our time together has always been too brief.

Merry meetings--and beautiful weather.

What sorts of fights have I missed while I was gone?  O dear--I hope someone will catch me up!

Autumn Equinox is just around the corner, friends in northern climes...and then Samhain.

I don't think I'm quite ready.

You?
