Bust A Move: Capricorn Moon Jan. 4-6 PLUS New Moon/Partial Solar Eclipse
Mama Moon enters the Earthy, Cardinal Sign of Capricorn on Jan. 4 at 10:55 am until Jan. 6 becoming New on Jan. 5 at 5:28 pm Pacific time. A partial Solar Eclipse occurs at 3:33 am which I’ll discuss in more detail in my New Moon Museletter.
It’s time now to BUST A MOVE as the 80’s rap song goes, and with a little help from take-control Capricorn you can kick off the New year with determination and will power.
It’s okay to be empathically attuned AND a team player right now. With Sun sextile Neptune and Uranus going direct in KICK ASS Aries prepare to break down OLD PATTERNS.
You may feel some anger and rebelliousness right now, but this too shall pass - Mama Moon moves fast. Reach out to a friend or a guide to help you gain perspective and move forward this 2019.

If you’ve been dealing with a situation in which you’re having a hard time making progress, everything is in line to move forward this month. Hopefully, that will be to your advantage. It’s all more likely to work in your favor if you are able to harness your enthusiasm and creativity to hard, disciplined work, and drive it towards practical ends.

New Moon in Capricorn: Treasure in the Dark Earth

The Sun's transit through fiery, jovial Sagittarius occurs as we are preparing to celebrate the Winter Solstice. Ruled by Jupiter, the Great Benefic, Sagittarius embodies the Jovian qualities of generosity and festivity that are so present during the holidays. We spend too much, eat too much, go out and party too much. It is a time of festivity and merry-making, and all of us are encouraged to join in, sometimes even pressured or ridiculed for not getting into the spirit.

At the Winter Solstice, the Sun moves into Capricorn. Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is the contraction that happens after the rapid expansion of Sagittarius Once the merry-making of the holiday season winds down, after the elation of the Solstice and New Years, Capricorn can feel like a return to grim reality. During Sagittarius we charge things up on the credit card, we overindulge in food and drinks. During Capricorn, the bills come due, we might have to tighten our belts to accommodate the holiday's excess, we start diets to get rid of the weight we gained.

New Moon in Capricorn: Radical Reality

The New Moon this month occurs in the sign of Capricorn (0°) on Sunday, December 21st, at 5:36 pm (PST).  Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth sign, meaning that it is a gateway sign, ushering us into a new season and a new chapter, and resonating with the sustaining and stable element of Earth.  Capricorn is the archetype of the  “Senex” - the Wise Old Man, the Sage, or the Elder in Jungian parlance.   Capricorn also encompasses the Crone, or the Wisewoman archetype.  Saturn rules this Earth sign, and Capricorn has an intimate understanding of the gifts of practicality, hard work, and above all, perseverance.
