Here is another affirmation using Tarot. I began with a quote that really struck me then matched it with the Tarot card I felt it went with. In this case, matching the card was a simple thing.

Today, I read this quote that really touched me. The quote itself is amazing, but the author tag is what got to me. It said "poet, playwright, and paratrooper."

And the author was a woman who died at the age of twenty-three. Twenty-three, y'all. My youngest stepchild is younger than that. Paratrooper?

Hannah Senesh (originally Szenes) said these words, "There are stars whose radiance is visible on Earth though they have long been extinct. There are people whose brilliance continues to light the world though they are no longer among the living. These lights are particularly bright when the night is dark. They light the way for humankind."

She died in 1944 in front of a Nazi firing squad. It's said that she refused the blindfold choosing instead to stare death square in the face. I don't know that I could have been that brave.

This woman is a star I never heard of. Her brilliance will resonate with me for a while, I think. There's even a poem that they found in her cell after her death. She never stopped writing or fighting.

Today I will forge a path forward. I will remember the brilliance of those who have gone before me. I will remember those whose brilliance is here and now. Loved and loving, I love each of you. See joy, hy'all. Pass it on.
