There is no such thing as just a deck of cards. Each deck has a special energy or story to tell. They have a very distinct purpose and tend to be heavily imprinted with the essence of their creators. This blog will explore both tarot and oracle decks and delve into their story, their purpose and how best you as a reader can utilize the gifts and abilities each deck has to offer.

Not A Match Made In Oracle Heaven - Art Through The Eyes Of The Soul

Art through the eyes of the Soul by Cheryl Yambrach Rose – More post, less of a review

This review has been a year in the making and not because I am super lazy, but because I have been trying my hardest to like this deck of cards. Alas no matter how hard I try this deck and I just can't seem to become friends. Which is why this is going to be less of a review and more of a post about me, the deck and how we have had to go our separate ways.

The reason I am not really reviewing this deck is because to be honest that would be unethical of me to take my personal issues with this deck out on the maker of these very stunning cards. We just don't seem to get each other, it's like this deck and I are just speaking two different languages and that's okay. It is important to understand that not all decks are for everyone and there will be the odd deck that is just not for you.

Let me talk about things I really do like about this deck. The artwork for this deck is stunning. My personal favs are 'The burning of the sage', 'Dawning of the Green Man' and the 'Welsh faery glen'. The cards themselves are a pleasure to work with even though they longer than your normal oracle card. The card stock is nice and sturdy and the book is easy to read and well put together. I also really like the way each card has a connection to a specific place, though I would have liked to have seen more meaning about the importance of the place when it comes up in a reading.

All in all this is a very well put together deck of oracle cards. Professional from beginning to end, we just didn't get along. I found it almost impossible to get a straight answer from these cards and I started to think that perhaps they would be better for meditation then for reading. That didn't seem to work for me either. But in the end I am totally okay with the fact that we were just not meant to be. This deck will end up in my teaching bag and it will end up making its way to someone who will love it the way it deserves to be loved. It just wont be me.

Perhaps that was really the lesson this deck was meant to teach me. To know when to let go and walk away. So if you also have a deck that you don't seem to gel with, perhaps it is time to call it quits and either give it away to someone who will love it or donate it to a spiritual center or local goddess temple. If you do have this deck and you love it I would love for you to leave your love notes at the end of this post.

Until next time,

Leeza Robertson is the most nonspiritual spiritual person you will ever meet. Her resistance to the New Age way of life set her on spiritual quest like no other. This began in 2006 when Leeza was first introduced to the concept of power animals. Then in 2008 she had her very first encounter with the fae world, which lead to her numerous radio interviews on shows like the very popular Tarot Talk. In 2009 Leeza lost her site due to a sinus infection. In this 3mth blindness she started seeing tarot spreads and cards along with images of the people the readings where for. In 2011 Leeza made a conscious choice to take her relationship with tarot to a much deeper level and that is when she began writing about tarot, the cards and teaching others the many mysteries of the ever unfolding path that is tarot. Today she is a member of the American Tarot Association and runs a monthly study group called Tarot and Tea. In 2013 Leeza was approached by Llewellyn World Wide to produce her very first Tarot deck, The Awakened Animal Tarot. Through the creation of this deck Leeza has forged an even stronger bond with the cards, their energy and the deeper aspects of their archetypal teachings.

I have it. I don't use it for readings. I do use it for meditation. The art is amazing.
