Let me take you on a journey through the wilds of nature and back to the roots and bones of witchcraft, a natural witchcraft that works with the seasons and all the natural items that Mother Nature provides drawing on magical folk lore with a dash of hedge witch and gypsy magic too.

Energy of the seasons

Energy of the seasons

Depending on where you live in the word you will be guided on what your seasons are and how they affect the energy around you.  But here is a rough and I mean rough guide for working with the energy of the seasons in general.  You will need to consider the weather, the area, the energy and all the other tiny elements that create the energy for any one particular day.

Spring

The element to work with for spring is air.

Spring is good to work magic for: Communication, travel, intellect, thought, mental powers, beginnings, freedom, teaching, divination, visualisation and study.

Summer

The element to work with for summer is fire.

Summer is good to work magic for: Action, passion, sexuality, anger, desire, energy work, power, strength, destruction, protection, banishing, purification and success.

Autumn

The element to work with for autumn is water.

Autumn is good to work magic for: Dreams, emotions, compassion, love, psychic healing, rest, cleansing, astral travel, death and rebirth and fertility.

Winter

The element to work with for winter is earth.

Winter is good to work magic for: Protection, grounding, the home, prosperity, fertility, ancestors, stability, wealth, strength, death and rebirth.

Guide

Obviously, this is just a guide for magic that lends itself to the energy of the season but don’t restrict yourself, go with what works for you and what is needed or feels right at the time.

Rachel is a witch...has been for a very long time, not the green skinned warty kind obviously...the real sort - but she is also a working wife and mother living in Hampshire, England who has also been lucky enough to write and have published a growing stack of books on the Craft. She loves to learn she loves to study and continues to do so each and every day but has learned the most from actually getting outside and doing it. She regularly gives talks and workshops at pagan events. Rachel is also founder and an Elder at the Kitchen Witch online school of witchcraft. She likes to laugh...and eat cake...
