From the Oak: Let’s hear it for the God!

Many are those that focus on female divinities, leaving male divinities in the shadows if they get mentioned at all. This is a shame. Here I will share my thoughts, stories and prayers on male divinities. Currently focusing on divinities placed in an atheist "graveyard".

Prayer to Cardea, Roman Goddess of the Hinge

b2ap3_thumbnail_handles-knockers-hinges-found-in-pompeii.jpg

This is written to fulfil my promise to write on each divinity from the atheists' graveyard.  Prayer to Cardea, Roman Goddess of the Hinge, the Axis, the Pole

Cardea, Goddess of the hinge, the axis, the pole

Open what is closed, close what is open

Protector of the threshold, Goddess of the Center

Open what is closed, close what is open

Beloved of Janus, Defender from Evil

Open what is closed, close what is open

Protector of children, Lady of Whitethorn

Open what is closed, close what is open

Honored Lady, I ask for your protection

Open what is closed, close what is open

Of hearth, of home, of family

Open what is closed, close what is open

Let no harm enter within

Open what is closed, close what is open

Enabling peace and well being

Open what is closed, close what is open

So that we may face inevitable change

Open what is closed, close what is open

With grace and compassion

Open what is closed, close what is open

Honor to you Lady Cardea

Open what is closed, close what is open

I'm an eclectic polytheist whose main divinities are Heru-ur, Bast, Sobek, Yinepu Isis, Zeus-Serapis, and Yemaya. I'm a mother, wife and Librarian living in the Rocky Mountains stumbling on my path and wondering what the heck I'm doing. Blessed be.
