Fire, Beer, Smithery

I  packed up a basket full of goodies last week that's now living in my car. It's a scarred and raggedy peck basket that's been used for fresh produce and hoodoo oddments for several years.

Now it is full of Brigid and Her shenanigans.

It's Bridey time, friends, and there's so much deliciousness to dive into as we approach Imbolc. There's the Bride's bed to freshen up and clouties to cut and the bhrat to acquire. Not to mention the public ritual, the pilgrimage to the spring and the spring dressing, an all-day retreat on the 1st.

We're doing a candle blessing and candle workshop this coming Sunday and I've gotten out my Gaeilge cds to brush up on my admittedly-sketchy pronunciation.

Soda bread.

Homemade beer.

Let's explore the modern Pagan bits and bobs that are part of this complex and wonderful holy day.

If you celebrate it, please share with us some of your favorite pieces.

Burning turf.

Sacred water.

Steel and spark.

Dew of life.
