Magick, Divination and the Search for Love

Of course, Beltane got me thinking about romance.

We tarot readers spend a lot of time talking with people about their love lives. People turn to tarot to get information about finding love and fixing broken love relationships.

As with all things tarot, a reading can turn into an opportunity to be a bit more proactive by including a little magick.

Whether you are using the cards for yourself, or for another person, here is a technique that involves both divination and magick in support of finding new love and romance.

For the person who is looking for love, ask this question of the cards, after shuffling. “What do we see coming soon in the love live?”

Pull a few cards, maybe three or four, and look at the story that emerges.

If you get a very positive card for love, such as the Knight of Cups, the Two of Cups, the Ten of Cups or the Four of Wands, you can be sure that a new relationship is coming soon.

The only magick you will want to do is to prepare, and to strengthen and hasten what has already been predicted. Do this by meditating with the positive images that have come up.

You can even print out an image of the card to give to someone to meditate with, or simply to hang on their wall to infuse their home with the energy of the card, and to draw that energy to them.

Often, when you ask this question and pull a few cards, the answer you get is not as easy, nor as positive. The cards may indicate the reasons there have been problems in love, or the emotional baggage that makes a new relationship difficult.

If you see these sorts of cards, you can mitigate their energy by simply reversing them, or turning them face down, with intention. Of course, you will also interpret the cards to offer the practical advice needed to make appropriate changes.

Sometimes, the cards will suggest that no relationship is coming, and for no particular reason. Then, you can shuffle the full deck again, and ask this question. “What must this person do to attract an appropriate relationship?”

Again, pull just a few cards, and see what story emerges. Decide which of the cards presented would be a good magickal ally in helping the person do what needs to be done.

Often, we think of love as something that is fated, as if there is just one special person waiting for the right moment. Sometimes, this may be true, but more often, the truth is this.

There are a lot of people in the world, and most of them want love. The irony is, there are a bunch of lonely people in the world, too.

Tarot divination and magick may help the lonely people of the world find each other!
