It was with great trepidation that I finally bit the proverbial bullet, put down Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time, and began to absorb this piece. The twists, contortions, and painful-looking pictures brought tears to my eyes. And no, children, I’m NOT talking about Hawking.

This book has the uncanny ability to make you want to read it. “Oh, boy,” you might say, “It’s about SEX! It’ll improve my love life! I’ll be a tiger in the sack!” I’m here to tell you, gentle reader, that it ain’t so. Unless you are an Olympic-quality gymnast (which I am not, unless you ask the Russian judges) this book will do nothing for you but add to your frustrations. If you don’t have ready access to six or seven willing females, you’ll probably end up skipping three-quarters of the book, anyway. That’s right, kids, the Kama Sutra is geared almost exclusively towards men having pretzel-sex with multiple women simultaneously. If that ain’t your scene, baby, find another swing upon which to be, um, swung.

If you are interested in an academic study of the sex lives of first-century Hindu nobility, this is a great place to begin. But if you’re looking for a way to spice up your love life, don’t bother. Unless, of course, you can dangle from the ceiling by your toes.
