This week we'll discuss the metaphysical properties of Bridge or Inner Child crystals. With all of these descriptions, it is my intention that you come away understanding how you might choose one crystal type over another to incorporate into your spell-work, meditation or rituals.

Here is the description I give about Bridge/Inner Child crystals in my book Understanding the Crystal People:

Last time I promised to begin our next discussion with Barnacles. Before I talk about Barnacles specifically, though, let's talk about how these metaphysical characteristics work. I have been doing a lot of meditating on this, and asked my crystal guide, Venus, for clarity, primarily in how to describe this concept of Metaphysical Descriptions to you. Following is information received from Venus over a period of days, and in italics is where she popped in as I was compiling my thoughts.

While the crystal configurations and shapes which have been named by many are a good way to generally categorize these configurations, it can be misleading, because people may think that if a shape or structure implies this or that (via the name or description), that magically, simply by obtaining one of these specially named crystals, the desired outcome will be achieved.

Crystal configurations are varied and many. What do I mean by "configuration"? Crystal configurations are the different shapes of quartz crystal, named according to:

Facets (placement, number of edges) such as:

Transmitter, Dow, Channeler or Channeling, Isis, Eight Sided Face and Windows;

Projections (crystals penetrating one another) such as:

Inner Child, Bridge and Manifestation;

Wow. Look at this crystal. This is an example of Self Healing which occurs during the growth of the crystal. Many times the earth movement causes crystals to break during their growth. I bet it didn't expect to get all smashed up like that during its growth! However, it didn't sit down and quit, it just kept on growing. It sealed over the rough, broken edges and in that process attracted some Barnacles (smaller crystals attracted to an old soul crystal) and kept getting prettier and prettier.

The same concept can be applied to us when we find ourselves broken or injured in some way. We heal up our wounds and keep on keepin' on.

Another question has come up that I thought I would address as a blog post. Curt asks:

"I find my crystal work is more effective in assisting others than it is when I assist myself. What do you advise?"

That's a really great question, and one I have often asked myself over the years. Why is it that most healing modalities seem more effective when we apply them to others than when we work on ourselves?

When we work on ourselves, many different factors come into play:

Last time we talked about Keys and Imprints. There are other ways that triangles and squares may present on crystals. We'll discuss those here, namely Growth Interference and Record Keepers.

GROWTH INTERFERENCE

Indentations and markings similar to Imprints and Keys also occur but they fall into a different category. Some of these triangular and square-shaped impressions are caused by what is called Growth Interference. Growth Interference happens when another mineral grows during the development of the crystal and then subsequently disappears.

YAY!  OK, so I had a question from my friend, Karen (the Feng Shui Lady) Adams. She writes:

"Tell me about crystals with "Keys" such as squares and triangles. I have heard about gazing at them in meditation? Anything else you can share would be exciting!"
