In each edition of the We’Moon datebook, we feature one Holy Day writer who shares with us her unique perspectives of each of the eight holy days. This year, we have the pleasure of sharing the work of Oak Chezar. Oak is a radical Dyke, performance artist, Women's Studies professor, psychotherapist, writer, & semi-retired barbarian. She lives in a straw bale, womyn-built house. She just published "Trespassing", a memoir about Greenham Common Womyn's Peace Camp. Whilst working & playing towards the decimation of patriarchy & industrial civilization, she carries water. oakchezar@gmail.com

We celebrate Death in October and Crone in November—two distinct life passages—honoring each in their own time.
At Samhain, we recognize death as an inherent part of life. We create cathartic rituals for our losses—including physical deaths and the loss of parts of ourselves: relationships, plans, resources, health. We invite the wisdom of Death Priestesses, and speak into sacredness plans for our own death—what we want for our own dying processes, our burial and death ritual choices.
Lisa Fazio (Poland, NY) is a traditional Western Herbalist, mother of four, writer, gardener and founder of Hawthorn Hill Herbs, an herbal education center that promotes the use of local medicine plants to create healthy human communities.

Autumn Equinox is about the mid-life phase of a woman's life, and also about the poignant seasonal turning toward winter and inward time. We encounter opportunity for personal assessment, asking ourselves pointed questions as we explore the psychology of harvest-time. We can name, ground and ritualized our harvests for the year: things that have come into being, that have gone well, things for which we are grateful.
. . .Lammas is the built-in moment, the true north of your inner compass for following what is right for you. Lammas is about gratitude, a true and deep emotion that can well up inside us when faced with the absolute magic of harvest, of gathering in our true heart work. . .
