Tarot Blog Hop: Oh Shut Up, Mom!

PREVIOUS | MASTER | NEXT

For those of you who are new to the Tarot Blog hop, the idea behind this is that the Tarot community joins together every six weeks to blog on a specific topic. That topic is proposed by whomever is wrangling the hop. We began in 2012 with an Imbolc hop that asked, "How can I be a better candle." This is our third year. The bloggers change and we are always happy for more to join us. You can learn more here. All those who work to promote camaraderie and community within the Tarot world are welcome.

Joy Challenge: Day Three

This is day three of an ongoing week-long challenge to seek joy. The beginning can be found here. I am sharing day three here because it involves a very simple, often overlooked, type of magic. All you need are Tarot cards, paper, pen, a magnet and a fridge.

Here is another affirmation using Tarot. I began with a quote that really struck me then matched it with the Tarot card I felt it went with. In this case, matching the card was a simple thing.

Thank you, Arwen. I did not know about this young woman, even though my father's family emigrated from Budapest.

Creating Sanctuary

Today's card is from an oracle deck. Don't mind the dog hair. That was on my scanner but I didn't notice it. sigh. :D Funny how that gets everywhere, isn't it.

In a way it's like the crazy in our lives. That seems to seep into everything, doesn't it? Just when you sit down for a quiet moment with a book or a TV show, some version of that crazy pops up.

Affirmative Magic

Hi, my name is Arwen and I do affirmations.

It's true. It was sometime in the mid 80's that I became an Affirmation addict. At least I think that is when I first ran across this concept. My first real memory of learning about affirmations was in Marion Weinstein's fabulous little red book,

Witchlings, Tarot and Snakes? Oh my!

Sometimes I run into a situation with a client where the answer simply isn't making itself known. When that happens, I turn to the clarification card technique.

This isn't something I developed. I learned it a long time ago from a beautiful witch in Toledo. Lady Lhianna taught me that sometimes

Party With Housewives And Zombies? NEVER!

There are just some combinations you should never do. Like inviting Aunt Tessie's ex-best friend and new husband who just happens to be Uncle Jack formerly of Jack and Tessie. Or pajamas with hiking boots. Or like bringing the wrong Tarot decks to a public event. Yep, I think there are some things that would be flat-out wrong to bring. Consider the social pitfalls of housewives and zombies and brides for instance.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Zombie_8Swords.jpgI like to have choices. With close to 300 decks, I have a lot of choices when gathering things up to work an event. Recently I was packing up to work a bridal shower. I had to figure out which decks to take.
