Many Blessings - turn of the wheel

So the wheel turns to another season.  I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to the snow and cold.

But Now that I'm in my own shop and I see the positive responses, and I have a store front window that I can display and paint and decorate, there is a bit of an underlying excitement.

Healing power of Autumn

I underestimate the power of the seasons. Well, I take that back, I fully respect the healing power of Spring and Summer, the warmth, the growth, the smell of  the warmer seasons. Especially after the cold winters that we get up here near the Great Lakes.

All Winter long, sometimes through part of April, the lake effect snows hit us and winter feels like such a relative that you only somewhat like who has over stayed their welcome.

So much has changed since my last post.

I worked in a position that caused me to get "tunnel vision" and only focus on my work. I worked long hours to obtain goals that the company expected in the hopes that I would be a "good" employee.

It’s a surreal feeling sitting at a follow-up doctor appointment with your urologist and she’s talking to a doctor in training about what had happened to you and says “on the ambulance ride here, she went into septic shock. She needed to be resuscitated and that is why she needed to be in ICU.” I sat there in disbelief, still not feeling as if I was that bad off.

Menopausal Momma

I've been considering changing the name of my blog to "Menopausal Momma". I'll be 51 this year and menopause has hit me hard. Well, I guess for the most part, it's not too bad. As well, I haven't had to take any medicine for the symptoms, and only stick with supplements and diet. (pretty proud of myself)

The hot flashes are somewhat nice as I'm generally always cold. But they wake me up in the middle of the night and I then stroll into the bathroom, feeling my way through the darkness praying not to fall or wake anyone else up. I am not the most graceful, and it is very dark here at night. I also wear contacts and dislike my glasses with a mild passion. The bathroom is out the bedroom door, down the hallway a bit and I often pray that the dog isn't sprawled out in the hallway (black dog in the dark is never easy). The bathroom is cool, the tile on my feet helps to cool my flash.

Girlfriend, I'm 77 and thriving, and I know hot flashes are annoying. But please buy some of those stick-on battery lights for you

On this full moon I lie here in an empty bed. I'm not sad or lonely, just slightly anxious. Why? My husband is driving a four hour round trip for work and the weather is to turn nasty.

So I take some time to enjoy this alone time. The kids are in bed as well.

Recently I had a lengthy discussion with my daughter about cellular memory. If you are not familiar with cellular memory, it is theorized that cells have specific memories and these memories are passed on should a person pass away and their organs donated.

The receiver of these organs may start to have memories from a place or event that they are not familiar with, as well, it is possible that they may have emotions over certain circumstances or during certain events that they have never before experienced.  It is believed that these memories and emotions come from the previous owner of the donated organs.
