Return from Darkness

The oracle review I recently posted is one of many that have piled up around me in the past few years.  I don’t even remember how I came about acquiring most of them, but I will try in the coming weeks to review the books and oracles that have been waiting for my attention.

I am slowly returning from the darkness.

You see, in 2020, my husband was admitted into in-home hospice care for his stage IV breast cancer that had metastasized.  It was nearly impossible to write or concentrate on anything else.  He passed in March 2021, after 27 years of a warm and fun-loving relationship.

Three months later, my landlord sold our house out from under me and I spent the next seven months not only grieving but jumping through hoop after hoop to try to buy the home, which in the end I managed to do.  In 2022 my daughter and grandson came to stay with me, fleeing an abusive situation and potential homelessness, only to have my daughter immediately diagnosed with stage III cancer.  For the next 16 months I took care of daughter and grandson until she received a clean bill of health and was able to move on.  But it was trauma on trauma on trauma. Since then I have been just trying to find the time and space to grieve all of this and begin to recover my own battered self.

So these projects—requests for reviews, articles I wanted to write, a book I wanted to finish, others to start and research—have simply been the guilt-inducing shadows at my back since 2020.  I try to give myself the same advice I would give a client—don’t beat yourself up, you have been through a lot, you will come back to these when they become important again. But the fear, guilt, and anxiety persisted against all logic.

This year, I’ve been better. I did more psychic fairs this spring than I have in five years.  And my plan was to stop doing the fairs for the summer to get caught up on at least some of my writing projects, which I am now doing.  So, I am coming back online in bits and pieces and I thank any fans for their patience.  I hope to post much more often about all sorts of interesting things—reincarnation, oracles, astrology, and other woo-woo topics.  Stay tuned.
