Ariadne's Tribe: Minoan Spirituality for the Modern World

Walk the sacred labyrinth with Ariadne, the Minotaur, the Great Mothers, Dionysus, and the rest of the Minoan family of deities. Ariadne's Tribe is an independent spiritual tradition that brings the deities of the ancient Minoans alive in the modern world. We're a revivalist tradition, not a reconstructionist one. We rely heavily on shared gnosis and the practical realities of Paganism in the modern world. Ariadne's thread reaches across the millennia to connect us with the divine. Will you follow where it leads?

Find out all about Ariadne's Tribe at ariadnestribe.com. We're an inclusive, welcoming tradition, open to all who share our love for the Minoan deities and respect for our fellow human beings.

How old is that blog post?

I began this blog in 2014. A lot of things have happened since then.

When I wrote the first blog post, Modern Minoan Paganism didn't exist yet. I and a handful of others were still groping around in the dark, doing our best to put the pieces together to figure out what the picture of ancient Minoan religion looked like. We hadn't even begun determining how to turn that into a modern spiritual practice.

Over the course of the eight-plus years I've been writing here, we've learned a lot. We've delved deep into archaeology, dance ethnology, comparative mythology, and shared gnosis. A lot of our early ideas about the Minoan deities turned out to be wrong - sometimes just a little wrong, but occasionally a LOT wrong.

So as you're exploring this blog, bear that in mind. The older the post, the more likely it contains information that's no longer accurate or relevant to MMP. I do my best to revise older posts as I come across them. You can check the bottom of each post for the date when it was most recently updated. But I've written more than 250 posts, so some are going to slip through the cracks, because I'm only human.

If you ever have questions about any of the information in any of these posts, please feel free to comment on the post, ask the question in Ariadne's Tribe, or email me about it. That way, you can get the answer you want, and I'll know there's another post I need to update.

In the name of the bee,
And of the butterfly,
And of the breeze, amen.
