The Goddess Brigid's Shrine

The Goddess Brigid’s Shrine - approaching completion

We made great progress on the Goddess Brigid’s Shrine this summer.  The walls got stuccoed and painted.  The walkway is made of pavers, several of which have engraved inscriptions from donors (inside the Shrine proper).

Her unique artwork is hanging across from the eternal flame.  The artwork shows her three aspects of Blacksmith, Healer and Inspirer of words.  The flame represents her aspect as a Fire Goddess.

The fireplace is ready but we are still waiting to get the hood installed.  The granite shelf tops will be one of the last things to place.

The blue paint on the floor represents a river.  This represents her aspect as a Goddess of healing springs.

We are Cascadia Grove of Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship (ADF). Our local Grove serves the Puget Sound area. We meet 8 times a year to celebrate the equinoxes, solstices and the cross quarter days (including Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh, and Samhain). We also support the planning and building of White Mountain Druid Sanctuary in Trout Lake WA.
