Good Ritual/Bad Ritual

Good ritual...

...we do together.

Bad ritual...

...is done to you.

Good ritual...

...lets you experience.

Bad ritual...

...tells you what you feel.

Good ritual...

...connects.

Bad ritual...

...isolates.

Good ritual...

...offers encounter.

Bad ritual...

...isolates.

Good ritual...

...encounters mystery.

Bad ritual...

...explains.

Good ritual...

...has participants.

Bad ritual...

...has an audience.

Good ritual...

...is about the god.

Bad ritual...

...is about the priest.

Good ritual...

...engages.

Bad ritual...

...bores.

"Vote with your hooves," said Sparky T. Rabbit (himself an ace ritualist).

When it's bad, get out.

Be respectful: leave unobtrusively, but leave.

Poet, scholar and storyteller Steven Posch was raised in the hardwood forests of western Pennsylvania by white-tailed deer. (That's the story, anyway.) He emigrated to Paganistan in 1979 and by sheer dint of personality has become one of Lake Country's foremost men-in-black. He is current keeper of the Minnesota Ooser.
