Middle Earth Magic: Inspired Ideas and Seasonal Spells for Your Enchanted Life
I grew up on a farm in West Virginia and learned much about herbs, trees, animals, gardening, foraging and so much about nature. I incorporate this wisdom I learned from elders in my family into my spellwork. When I finally left the farm, I majored in Medieval Studies, my attempt to emulate my idol, J.R.R. Tolkien. All these influences led me to my own blended brew which I call "middle earth magic," containing a mix of the modern and the time-tested "old ways."
Waxing Moon: Magnolia Love Potion
This spell will ensure a faithful relationship. You will need:
• Magnolia buds gathered under a waxing moon
• Honey
Sweeten the magnolia buds with honey and brew in a tea, sprinkle in a salad, or stir into a soup. Chant this simple spell as you brew or stir:
Lover be faithful, lover be true.
Give thy heart to nobody but me.
This is my will.
So mote it be.
So mote it be.
Before you both consume the honeyed magnolia buds, whisper this wish:
Honey magnolia, goddess’s herb,
Perform this enchantment superb,
Let (lover’s name) and I be as one.
