Magic in the Voting Booth

I'll be voting tomorrow in our county's Democratic caucus to pick a candidate for the upcoming school board election.  The county caucuses are fun; there's always some school group selling cupcakes or cookies and there are lots of activists handing out literature and seeking signatures for all sorts of causes.  And, usually, the candidates are there and more than willing to talk about the issues.

I never vote without remembering my ancestors:  both of my blood (my grandma was born when women did not have the right to vote) and of my spirit (the Occoquan Suffragettes seem to show up in the booth with me with rather surprising regularity).

How is voting magic for you?
