[A Fast Five interview with Clare London, author of numerous m/m romance novels and short stories -- and a fellow contributor to Myths, Moons, and Mayhem: Paranormal Gay Menage and Erotic Romance (Sexy Little Pages).]

BookMusings: “Inside Man,” your story in Myths, Moons, and Mayhem, focuses on a ghost. First, why a spectral central character?

Clare London: I've always been fascinated by ghosts -- by the frustration/titillation of someone who can see all, but not necessarily join in. I understand the difficulty of a character having a satisfying relationship with a ghost, so I always look for a way to make it work. This time, the menage a trois theme was the perfect opportunity!

BookMusings: What sort of research went into this story? And what’s your favorite bit of real-world ghostly lore?

Clare London: No research needed except more mining of my imagination! I set the story in an area of London I know well, populated by the kind of men I would meet there. And of course, London is full of ghost stories and hauntings, from disasters, murders, and sad accidents -- including an occasional appearance by a ghostly no. 7 double-decker bus!

BookMusings: What does your writing space look like? Books and notes piled everywhere? Or is it neat and tidy?

Clare London: Absolute chaos! Not that I want it to be, but I don't have a separate office at home, so I write on one third of the dining room table. At the moment, the rest of the room is full of boxes and bits of furniture -- we're decorating the hall! -- so it's even more cluttered than usual. When this stage of decoration is done, I'm putting my need for a more comfortable space to the top of the DIY list!

BookMusings: Where can readers find out more about you and your work?

Clare London: My website has all my books and my news. I also have a newsletter which often has freebie offers, and I can be found all over social media. All my links are here, and I love to hear from readers!

PaganSquare: What other projects are you working on? And which book fairs, conventions, or other events are you planning to attend in the foreseeable future?

Clare London: I'm just finishing another romantic comedy novel in Dreamspinner Press' Dreamspun Desires imprint -- these are relaxing, fun, familiar romance themes given the male/male twist, and I've loved writing them! Then I'm talking a couple of months' off from writing and concentrating on planning my way through 2018, when I intend to expand my genre horizons into crime writing. I haven't attended many conventions in the last few years, though I've loved going to Yaoi Con, GRL, and Romantic Times in the past. Next year I'll be at Euro Con and also UK Meet, where I'm on the organising committee.
