February 2010

The month begins with Imbolc, the candle feast, and a series of incredibly fortunate planetary contacts. Mercury rejoins the Dragon’s Head (North Node) on the 2nd: solidify future plans and personal commitments on the sabbat. The Libra Moon casts fortune-giving trines on the 3rd. Mercury and Uranus shake more good luck out of the kitty on the 5th, and Jupiter and Pluto follow suit on the 6th. Venus and Neptune follow up with a display of phenomenal talent and off-the-wall imagination on the 7th. Mercury enters Aquarius on the 10th while Mars, Jupiter and Saturn form a Yod or Finger of God. Jupiter is in a good position to make Mars and Saturn work out differences, accommodate improvements, and adjust to new priorities.

Venus enters Pisces on the 11th, adding to the good-fortune energies from Jupiter. Mercury trines Saturn on the 12th, and opposes Mars on the 13th, which facilitates energetic dialogs and negotiations. The New Moon on the 13th lines up with the Sun, Chiron and Neptune, and this four-pack gives a dose of feel-good medicine to ongoing debates.

A rare and bizarre “Pandora’s Box” configuration lines up on the 14th-15th. Saturn and Pluto are the base of the box, while Venus and Mars form the lid. It shows where efforts are at cross-purposes, or where different groups (or individuals) have the same goals but very different ideas about how to attain them. Venus is conjunct Jupiter on the 16th, extremely favorable for love magic and romance after sundown. The Sun follows Venus into Pisces on the 19th. Mercury lines up with Neptune on the 27th. Hot new film releases vie with big news floating through the air waves, as this pair is illuminated by the Full Moon in Virgo on the 28th. The Sun draws on the bountiful benefits of Jupiter and shares it with the Moon. Women’s achievements dominate the news.
